In recent times, the IPCC exam results have been disclosed, bringing a clear message to those who didn’t achieve success: Do not lose hope. The sooner you resolve to persist, the better.
Approach failure with the mindset of resilience. At the outset, it might be disheartening. Revisiting the same subjects, especially the parts you struggled with, can be challenging. A lurking fear in our subconscious is whether we can match our previous preparation efforts. The answer isn’t a simple yes or no; it’s about the narrative you embrace. If you convince yourself that you’re improving upon your past performance, this perspective gradually fuels your motivation to try again. Your determination invariably reflects in your outcomes.
I’ve witnessed friends I least expected to pass who successfully cleared both groups. Conversely, there are friends I anticipated would breeze through but didn’t clear either. Such unexpected results don’t surprise me; they reinforce the fact that determination is the hallmark of a CA degree. Granted, a touch of luck plays a role too.
We often hear tales of people working relentlessly, sometimes even sacrificing sleep. Is it solely due to pressure or imminent deadlines? Often, it’s attributed to their resolute self-molded identity. Their conviction resists weakness.

As aspiring CAs, we must cultivate a proactive approach. Embrace responsibility, don’t evade challenges; rather, step forward and confront them. Execute tasks promptly—don’t defer them to tomorrow or the next hour. We frequently request others to accomplish tasks urgently, yet when it comes to our personal duties, why postpone them? Merely to indulge in music, chat, or a game?
Remember, your primary source of motivation should be yourself. I’d venture to say that rather than wallowing in your own disappointments, inspire those around you. This concept, previously explored in my earlier articles, suggests that while aiding others, we often find solutions to our own predicaments. Life brims with forthcoming challenges; this instance was merely a setback. You have a choice: Allow failure to rob you of progress or let it shape your journey.
Believe me, embracing failure will prolong its hold on you. You’ll squander valuable time pondering insignificant matters, which could have been better spent studying. Quitting would not just be forfeiting the current struggle; it would also mean forfeiting the degree. The value of the degree is as significant as the knowledge it represents.
So, how does one effectively navigate failure? Internalize the resolve to persevere. Set out to overcome obstacles and prove your mettle. Rekindle hope within yourself. Opt for positivity, regardless of the circumstances. Your next mission awaits, ready for your pursuit.
“Hope today, don’t concede defeat,
The world rests on aspirations sweet,
No challenge is insurmountable, see,
Even the mighty CA degree!”
“Falling isn’t failure, refusing to rise is.”
“When an obstruction looms between you and triumph, remove it. Never accept defeat.” – Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Wishing you all the best on your journey!
